VER reorganized its portfolios

The State Pension Fund (VER) has reorganized its investment portfolios and has established a new portfolio called “Position Management and Diversified Investments”. The new portfolio includes FX hedging and derivatives investments, and other new investments.

At the moment, VER has three portfolios: Fixed-Income Investments, Equity Investments and Other Investments. In the reorganization process, the Other Investments will change its name to Alternative Investments and it will focus on illiquid investment products.

The new Head of Investments for the Position Management and Diversified Investments portfolio will be Sami Lahtinen from VER. Portfolio Manager Antti Vartiainen from VER will join the team. They will set up and develop the new portfolio, which will start on January 1st 2015.

The purpose of this reorganization is to improve risk reward ratio and the usage of derivatives as a part of risk management in VER’s investments.
